Home-based care
Gren Village currently operates on a small scale through a home-based model. This allows care to remain personal, closely observed, and responsive.
About Gren Village
Gren Village is a nonprofit senior dog sanctuary founded by Gina Morelli and named for Grendel Marie, the English bulldog who changed the course of her life.

Our mission is to provide safe, loving, lifelong sanctuary care for senior dogs who have been overlooked, abandoned, or outlived their families. We meet each dog where they are and shape their care around their health, personality, comfort, and changing needs.
Gren Village is not a traditional shelter and our dogs are not routinely placed for adoption. The purpose of sanctuary is stability: fewer transitions, familiar people, predictable routines, and a home for the rest of their lives.

Gren was more than the inspiration for a name. She showed me how much an older dog can ask of your heart and how much they give in return. Her life, her needs, and the grief of losing her became the beginning of a bigger promise.
Gren Village exists so senior dogs can have what every old dog deserves: care without a countdown, a familiar place to sleep, people who know their routines, and love that does not disappear when life becomes complicated.

Long-term plan
Our goal is a permanent sanctuary property designed for safe movement, quiet rest, accessible outdoor space, and the needs of aging dogs.
Growth philosophy
Expansion will be thoughtful and responsible. We will never take in more dogs than we can safely support with time, space, and financial resources.
Why senior dogs?
Senior dogs are often harder to place because adopters worry about medical expenses, mobility limitations, or having too little time together. These are the very reasons they need dependable care.
For an older dog, comfort may look like medication on schedule, rugs for traction, shorter walks, extra veterinary monitoring, or simply a quiet bed near someone they trust.
